A German federal court has sentenced Beate Chepe, the only survivor of a neo-Nazi group that committed ten racist killings, to life in prison after convicting her of ten murders.
A Munich court has found 43-year-old Cepe guilty of membership in the National Socialist Underground (NSU), whose members killed eight Turkish immigrants, a Greek and a German police officer from 2000 to 2007.
Cepe has denied involvement in the killings along with two men, Uwe Benhardt and Uwe Mudlos. The two committed suicide in 2011 when police mistakenly located the organization. However, she has stated, through her lawyer, that she feels morally responsible because she did not stop them.
