Seven people were killed in yesterday's attack by two Palestinians at a tram station in Tel Aviv, Thursday night, according to the latest tally announced by the Israeli police.
Initially the dead were six, however one of the injured ended up during the night. "The wounded man arrived (at the emergency room) in critical condition (…) and after fighting to save him, doctors pronounced him dead," Tel Aviv's Isilov Hospital said.
Earlier, police said six people were killed and nine others wounded in an attack with an automatic weapon and a sharp weapon by "two terrorists", who were "neutralized" by bystanders using their personal weapons.
Officially, the identity of the dead has not been announced. Israeli media reported two of the dead as Sahar Goldman, 30, and Inbar Segev, 33, both Israelis.
The time of the attack
The attack took place near the Sderot-Jerusalem metro station in the Jaffa neighborhood. The two perpetrators opened fire inside the train, before getting off it. They continued shooting on foot on Jerusalem Avenue, according to police.
One of the two attackers died on the spot and the other was injured and taken to a hospital in serious condition.
According to the first data of the investigation, the two men are Palestinians originally from the occupied West Bank.
So far no organization has claimed responsibility for the attack, which occurred shortly after 19:00 (local and Greek time).
