According to the Italian public television Rai, it was recently announced that the nine-year-old child who was seriously injured by the fall of the cable car in the Piedmont region, lost the battle to the death. The second, five-year-old child continues to be hospitalized, in critical condition, in a hospital in Turin.
According to the officials of the local government of Piedmont, no one can understand yet how the steel thread of the cable car broke, since the required maintenance was completed just two days ago. The answers, regarding any mistakes that may have led to this tragedy, will probably be given only by a public prosecutor's investigation.
