A Riverdale actor killed his mother in order not to witness his plan to assassinate the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trinto.
British Columbia prosecutors say during a hearing that Ryan Grantham, 24, shot dead his 64-year-old mother, Barbara Waite, "to save her" from seeing the assassination plot against the Canadian prime minister carried out.
How the heinous crime took place
After shooting Waite in the back of the head while playing the piano on March 31, 2020, Grantham covered her body with a sheet and placed rosaries and candles around her.
He then, according to the CBC, stored three weapons, ammunition and 12 Molotov cocktails in his car and headed to Rideau Cottage in Ottawa.
