Kamala Harris gave her first campaign speech in Wisconsin after launching her presidential campaign.
Vice President Kamala Harris, at the first rally of her 2024 presidential campaign, told supporters she would spend the next few weeks "continuing to unite our party" ahead of next month's Democratic National Convention and a showdown with Donald Trump in the fall.
How Kamala Harris Slammed Donald Trump Her Way
And as foreign media points out, in terms of policies, in her speech Kamala Harris continued what she said in her speeches as vice president, using the sharp contrasts with Trump, but as reported by CNN her rhetoric was different and with its own of style.
And very careful.
Speaking about her record as a prosecutor in California, Harris said she's "dealt with criminals of all kinds: Rapists who abused women, con artists who ripped off consumers, con artists who broke the rules for their own gain."
"So listen to me when I say I know Donald Trump's type," he said.
Harris said she already has enough voters to become the Democratic nominee and asked for Wisconsin's support.
"The road to the White House goes through Wisconsin. And to win in Wisconsin, we're counting on you, here in Milwaukee. And you helped us win in 2020. And in 2024, we will win again,” he said.
Building the middle class is her message
He sought to promote an economic message that was very clear.
"Building the middle class," Harris told supporters, "will be a defining goal of my presidency."
Harris also pointed to what she called Trump's "extreme Project 2025 agenda."
"We're not going back," he promised, prompting the crowd to chant, "We're not going back."
Tuesday's rally in Wisconsin came at the end of a 48-hour period that had upended the 2024 race.
The trip to Wisconsin — one of three "Blue Wall" states, along with Pennsylvania and Michigan — is Harris' fifth in the run-up to the election.
With Biden as the Democratic nominee, the party's path to winning 270 electoral votes ran directly through those states.
