China Eastern Airlines flight MU5375, which crashed in March killing 132 people on board, appears to have been deliberately crashed into the mountain, according to newer information.
The analysis made in the black box by American officials suggests that someone in the cockpit of the Boeing 737-800 deliberately made the fatal dive.
The Wall Street Journal quoted an anonymous source as saying: "The plane fell into a vacuum, doing what someone guided it from the cockpit."
The aircraft maintained a constant altitude until it fell, abruptly, 20.000 feet before finally crashing.
The route taken by the plane, the lack of a call for help and the fact that the signal was never lost, raised suspicions among investigators who saw similarities with the crash of a Germanwings flight in 2015. In that case, the pilot deliberately dropped it in the French Alps , killing 150 people.
The WSJ said Chinese authorities had not told their US counterparts that there were any mechanical problems or flight control issues with the plane that crashed on March 21.
China Eastern said the pilot and co-pilot were both in good health, with no known financial or family problems they were likely to have.
Chinese authorities said shortly after the crash that no emergency code had been sent from the plane, indicating that no intruder could reach the cockpit.
China's aviation regulator has not yet commented on anything other than a statement last month that investigations are ongoing.
