Syrian Kurdish forces and their Arab allies have completely occupied the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zor from the Islamic State, with the help of the US-led coalition and Russia, the Kurdish YPG said today.
The YPG said the coalition and Russian forces in Syria had provided "air and logistical support, information and coordination on the ground", and hoped that support would increase.
