Croatia: 24 members of the Russian embassy deported

The Croatian government today asked 24 employees of the Russian embassy to leave the country due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the "barbaric attack", the Foreign Ministry announced, following similar moves made by other EU member states.

Of the 24 employees of the Russian embassy, ​​18 are diplomats, according to the announcement.

The Croatian Foreign Ministry said that the Russian ambassador was summoned to be informed of Croatia's protest against the "barbaric attack in Ukraine and the many crimes committed (there)".

"The Russian side has been informed of the reduction of the administrative staff and other members of the embassy of the Russian Federation in Zagreb," the statement said.
