A case of its variable strain Omicron Covid-19 was located in the greater Paris / Ile-de-France region, BFM TV reported today, citing local health authorities.
The person, who was found to be infected with the Omicron variant, had recently returned from Nigeria, BFM TV added.
Omicron, which was first identified in southern Africa and which the World Health Organization (WHO) has said poses a "very high" risk of infection outbreaks, has caused a worldwide alarm.
