Cypriot and bilateral, at the Christodoulidis - Soltz meeting in Berlin

The Cyprus problem, the proposal of the President of the Republic for a more active involvement of the EU in the resolution efforts, as well as bilateral relations, will be at the center of the meeting that President Christodoulidis will have in Berlin with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

As stated in an announcement from the Presidency, the President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulidis will pay a working visit to Germany on May 24 and 25, during which he will hold talks with the Chancellor of the country.

President Christodoulidis will depart for Frankfurt on the afternoon of May 24, where he will attend the ceremony for the 25th anniversary of the European Central Bank in the evening. On the sidelines of the ceremony, the President of the Republic will meet with the President of the ECB, Christine Langard.

He will also sit in on a dinner hosted by the President of the ECB for heads of state or government and other officials who have been invited to attend the celebratory ceremony.

The same evening, the President of the Republic will depart for Berlin, where on the afternoon of May 25 he will go to the Chancellery, where he will be received by the Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz.

A private meeting will follow and then extended talks will take place between the delegations of the two countries.

Among the topics that will concern the talks are the developments in the Cyprus issue and the proposal of President Christodoulidis for more active involvement of the EU in the resolution efforts, bilateral relations, issues related to the European agenda and regional and international developments.

Later the President and the Chancellor will hold a joint press conference.

Immediately after, the President of the Republic will visit the Holocaust Memorial Denkmal, before departing for Cyprus.

The President of the Republic will be accompanied to Germany by the Government Representative Konstantinos Letympiotis, the Ambassador of the Republic to Germany Maria Papakyriakou, the Director of the Diplomatic Office of the President, Marilena Rauna and officials.
