Florida Massacre: The teacher-hero who died to save a schoolgirl

A soccer coach has died heroically after using his body as a shield to protect a schoolgirl during a Florida high school massacre.

Aaron Feis was shot dead as he tried to stop Nikolas Cruz while spreading death among students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

He was taken to hospital in critical condition and later died of his injuries.

"He died the same way he lived - he put himself in second place," he said the person in charge of the school football program and exphis face, Denise Lehtio.

"He was a very kind soul, a very good man, a hero died."

Feis was the assistant coach of the team and also worked as a security guard at the school where he attended.

Feis was among 17 people killed when a former student, armed with a gun, opened fire at the school. It is a massacre, among the 10 deadliest mass shootings in modern US history.
