Celebrations for Tehran's stance were included in the first message addressed to Iranians after the ceasefire with Israel. Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, celebrated Tehran's stance towards the United States, declaring that the Iranian people had achieved "victory" against the American army.
"The United States did not achieve any strategic result from this war," the 86-year-old leader said. According to him, Washington got involved in the conflict not for reasons of its own interests, but because "it believed that if it did not do so, Israel would be completely destroyed," and he accused Donald Trump of "theatrics."
Targeting the US president, Khamenei said that "Trump said in one of his speeches that Iran must surrender." "Iran's enemies use excuses like missiles or the nuclear program, but in reality they seek our surrender," he said.
In this context, he emphasized: "Trump revealed the truth that the US will only be satisfied with Iran's surrender - but we will never surrender, our people are strong."
Sending a message in every direction, Khamenei warned that “any future aggressive action against Iran will have a great cost.” He said Tehran has the ability to reach important American bases again if a new aggressive action is taken.
Khamenei added that Iran's stance "prevented the enemy's superiority" and publicly congratulated his country's citizens for their "strong resistance and morale."
These statements come a few hours after the confirmation of a ceasefire, announced by US President Donald Trump, but violations followed on both sides.
