The instruction to British citizens who are in Lebanon to leave the country immediately was repeated on Sunday night by the Foreign Office.
In a more recent post on social media, the British Foreign Office said: “British nationals in Lebanon should leave now. You should take the next available flight."
Britons in Lebanon are also invited to register their presence on a special Foreign Office website to receive updates on developments.
UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy said he had a discussion on developments in Lebanon with his French counterpart Jean-Noel Barot, who arrived earlier in Beirut.
According to the British foreign minister, the two agreed on the need to end the bloodshed, allow humanitarian aid to civilians and seek a diplomatic solution to end the conflict.
