The British Maritime Safety Office (UKMTO) announced in the early hours of the morning that it had received information about a new "incident" in the Red Sea, in an area about 57 nautical miles north-west of Assab, Eritrea.
Authorities are investigating, UKMTO added in the warning posted on X (formerly Twitter).
A little later in a new post he informed that there was a suspicious approach of a ship and the incident ended.
“The captain reports a small vessel circling his ship. He fired warning shots and the minicraft left. The vessel and crew are safe, proceeding to the next port. Vessels are advised to proceed with caution and report any suspicious activity to the UKMTO."
