Two Swiss skiers taking part in the Pyongyang Winter Olympics have been infected with the virus, the Swiss delegation announced today. These are the first cases of infection among athletes participating in competitions.
The International Olympic Committee clarified earlier that the two skiers no longer live with most of the athletes in the Olympic Village of Pyongyang.
The races are affected by the outbreak of infections with this virus, which causes vomiting, diarrhea and gastroenteritis, but to date no cases have been reported among athletes.
More than 200 people have so far been confirmed to be infected with the virus, most of them members of the security and support staff of the games.
