The teenager, who is accused of killing eight students and two high school teachers in the Houston area of Texas on Friday, had studied earlier mass murders before launching his attack, sources told ABC News.
The accused, 17-year-old Dimitrios Pagourtzis, "used evidence from those murders for his own", as a source told the television network without going into details.
His classmates at the Santa Fe School in Texas describe Pagourtzis as a quiet and lonely guy who played football on his school team.
