He may invite North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to Washington, said Donald Trump if their meeting in Singapore "goes well."
"Yes; if they do well, I think that could happen," he told reporters, taking questions with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
Trump also said he could envision a normalization of ties between the United States and North Korea if an agreement is reached with Kim.
"The normalization of relations is something one would expect after everything is over," Trump said. "We would definitely like to see a normalization."
Trump also reiterated his position on a number of other issues, making it clear that the United States, South Korea, Japan and China will help North Korea's economy if an agreement is reached.
Trump also said that Kim's letter was "very nice", but did not say much "except we look forward to seeing you".
Earlier, the American President had stated that everything is ready for their meeting and that the four-on-four with Kim will be "much more" than a photo between them.
