The US military announced on Thursday that it had launched bombing raids against two more speedboats suspected of transporting drugs in the eastern Pacific Ocean, killing three and two people, respectively, whom it described as "narco-terrorists."
"A total of five male narco-terrorists were killed in these actions — three on the first boat and two on the second," the US Joint Command responsible for South America (SOUTHCOM) said via X, accompanying the post with a compilation of declassified videos of the two bombings, totaling 30 seconds.
Since September, the US armed forces have launched dozens of such bombings in the Caribbean and the Pacific, in which at least 104 people have lost their lives - according to Washington's announcements - without ever presenting evidence that the targeted vessels were involved in illegal activities.
Experts and the UN question the legality of these operations.
