The US is sending another aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford, along with its accompanying ships, to the Middle East.
According to CBS, the Ford – which is the US Navy's most advanced aircraft carrier – set sail from the Caribbean on a mission to sail to the Middle East where the USS Abraham Lincoln is already stationed.
The USS Ford has been in the Caribbean since last November, as part of the US military operation in Venezuela with attacks on boats allegedly carrying drugs.
The move of the second aircraft carrier comes as US President Donald Trump is pressuring Iran to reach a nuclear deal, threatening military action if it does not agree to curb its nuclear program.
Trump has repeatedly warned in recent weeks that a "huge armada" is on its way to Iran, while in an interview with NBC News last week he said Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, "should be very worried."
