The Civil Protection in the Gaza Strip reported on Wednesday night that at least 470 people had died in Israeli shelling of the Palestinian enclave after it resumed on a massive scale on the night of Monday to Tuesday.

On the "second day of the resumption of the war against Gaza (...) the death toll since March 18 (has risen) to over 470," Mahmoud Bassal, spokesman for the first aid organization, said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Civil Protection in the Gaza Strip announced yesterday, Wednesday, the death of 14 members of the same family in an Israeli shelling of a building where a condolence ceremony was taking place in Beit Lahia, in the northern part of the Palestinian enclave.

According to eyewitnesses, the bombing took place around 17:00 (local time and Cyprus time).

Emergency services identified 14 members of the Mubarak family among the dead, Mahmoud Bassal, a spokesman for the civil protection, told AFP.

He added that about ten people are missing and believed to be trapped in the rubble.

Moreover, the civil protection in the Gaza Strip reported ten dead and many others injured early this morning in new Israeli airstrikes on the Palestinian enclave, following the resumption of massive-scale strikes by the Israeli air force on the night of Monday to Tuesday.

"At least 10 civilians were killed and dozens more were injured in Israeli airstrikes that targeted six houses in the eastern part of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip, early this morning," civil defense spokesman Mahmoud Bassal told AFP.
