The unpleasant news was announced by her representative, who stated in his statement that "she passed away after a battle for her health".
"Tina Turner, the 'Queen of Rock'n Roll' passed away peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long battle with her health. She died at her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. With her, the world is losing a music legend and a role model," the statement said.
