Putin and Erdogan prioritize energy cooperation

During a telephone conversation today, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed that priority should be given to joint energy-related projects, such as the construction of a nuclear power plant in Akuy and of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline.

This is stated in the relevant statement of the Kremlin, in which, among other things, it is noted that Vladimir Putin congratulated the Turkish leader on his victory in the presidential election and wished him further success in the performance of his duties.

Earlier, the Russian president had sent Erdogan a congratulatory telegram congratulating him on his re-election, as well as on the victory of the Justice and Development Party in the parliamentary elections.
