Refugee: Veto from Italy in the final conclusions of the European Council

Italy has blocked the adoption of all the conclusions of the first day of the summit in Brussels, as it had threatened.

According to a European Council statement, "one Member State has expressed reservations about all the conclusions and no conclusions have been reached so far".

It is recalled that Italy had earlier threatened to veto if its immigration demands were not met.

Juncker-Tusk press conference canceled

European Council President Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker canceled a scheduled press conference in Brussels tonight following a veto by Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte in the final conclusions.

With Italy's veto, European leaders have failed to adopt the European Council's final conclusions on defense and trade.
