Deadly wildfires have wreaked havoc in California, with their footprint visible in satellite images.
In particular, satellite images showed the extent of the devastation from the Pacific Palisades fire, which burned more than 15.000 acres and left the shoreline along the famous Malibu neighborhood black with ash and homes along the beach.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said firefighters from across California and elsewhere arrived to help along with air operations battling the flames. Meanwhile, Pasadena Fire Chief Chad Augustine said 200 to 500 structures were damaged or lost in the Eaton fire.
It is recalled that so far the fires have claimed the lives of five people, more than 1.000 structures have been destroyed and more than 130.000 people have been forced to leave their homes in California.
