A fashion designer in Tehran is among those trying to offer support to women who have been victims of acid attacks while raising public awareness.

Amin Hadem explains that her choice to hire models who were victims of such crimes goes against what the perpetrators of the attacks intended: to deprive them of their beauty and force them to live the rest of their lives as prisoners - if of course they managed to survive.

Not a few Iranian women are victims of acid attacks every year.

Hadem emphasizes that through her initiative she aspires to touch sensitive chords and help victims get out of isolation. It is unthinkable that they should be disqualified just because of the burns they suffered, he notes. In this context, she approaches other colleagues urging them to follow her example.
