The murder of 12-year-old Kenneth Ingram took place last Saturday in the house where he lived with his mother in southern Chicago.
According to the case file, the mother of the 12-year-old has been recorded on a security camera marking her child's head and urging him to hand over the memory card.

The 37-year-old, who was in possession of two weapons, is charged with first degree homicide and is being held without bail with relatives reporting that she had engaged in paranoid behavior before her son was killed.
According to the father of the 12-year-old child, the mother "was a loving mother. She loved him more than anything else in the world. "
"People need to know that mental illness is real," added Lavel Ingram, adding that the woman had just visited her psychotherapist the day before.
