A Turkish Cypriot who had hoisted a pseudo-state flag in Antarctica was killed by an avalanche

Dead is the climber Birkan Uzun, who had raised the flag of the pseudo-state on Mount Vinson, the highest point in Antarctica that reaches 4.892 meters.

According to Turkish Cypriot media, on his return to the US, Uzun went skiing but died after an avalanche.

The leader of the Turkish Cypriots, Ersin Tatar, made a relevant post about the death of the climber.

Uzun, 28, was born in Morphou and worked as a business consultant for a company in Seattle, United States. He had stated that his goal was to climb the highest points of all seven continents.
