Shock in New York: One in seven pregnant women positive for the disease

According to the British newspaper Independent, in a study conducted by the New York-Presbyterian Medical Centers and Columbia University Medical Center, out of the 215 women who were admitted to the hospital to give birth from March 22 to April 4, 33 were diagnosed positive and 29 of them show no symptoms.

According to the study, three of the women who were asymptomatic developed symptoms during their hospital stay.

The other four who tested positive had a fever.

Another case worth mentioning is that of a woman who was admitted, negative for the coronavirus, to the hospital, but three days later she came out positive for the virus.

It is worth noting that no woman during pregnancy has died from coronavirus, however in many countries cases and deaths from the disease have been reported in newborns and young children.
