Loneliness is now treated as a disease by Western scientists with millions of people showing severe symptoms due to social isolation, such as depression, dementia and diabetes.
Researchers from the University of Chicago are perfecting the "pill of loneliness", according to the British newspaper "Daily Mail".
The pill, made by American scientists, aims to alleviate the brain activity that causes stress when we feel isolated.
It is no coincidence that when people lose their partner, they are 66% more likely to die in the first three months after losing a spouse.
