The masked man shocked Britain: "I will try to kill Elizabeth"

London Metropolitan Police are investigating a video threatening the life of Queen Elizabeth, allegedly linked to a 19-year-old man arrested on Christmas day at Windsor Castle estate in possession of a crossbow.

The video, published by the Sun newspaper, shows the masked man holding a crossbow and telling the camera that he will try to kill "Elizabeth, queen of the royal family", in a mission of "revenge".

The masked man refers to the so-called "Amritsar massacre", when British soldiers opened fire on a crowd in the Indian city, killing 379 people.

The video, with a voice filter and references to Star Wars, was posted by Jaswad Singh Chill on Snapchat on Christmas morning, 24 minutes before the 19-year-old was arrested.

The threatening message

In his message he is heard saying: "I'm sorry. I'm sorry for what I have done and for what I will do. I will try to kill Elizabeth, the queen of the royal family. It is revenge for those who lost their lives in the 1919 massacre at Jallianwala Bagh.

It is also revenge for those who have been killed, humiliated and discriminated against because of their race. I am an Indian Sikh, a Sith. My name was Jaswant Singh Chail, my name is Darth Jones ".

Sith may be a reference to the protagonist villains in Star Wars, while Darth Jones may be related to James Earl Jones who gave the voice of Darth Vader. In the background of the clip was a framed image of the Star Wars character Darth Malgus. In the Jallianwala Bagh massacre or the Amritsar Massacre, 379 protesters were killed and 1.200 were injured by British forces in India.

Along with the video, a message was sent to Snapchat saying: "I apologize to all those who wronged or lied to them. 'If you received this, then my death is near. Please share it. "

Police have confirmed that they are studying the video, but not that the person pictured is the 19-year-old who was arrested and who has not been named.

The perpetrator was found on Saturday morning climbing a rope ladder to a fence in the courtyard of the royal estate, where the 95-year-old monarch spent Christmas this year with Princes Charles and Edward and their wives.

The 19-year-old, from Southampton in the south of England, was unable to reach the Castle's houses.

Shortly after his arrest, it became known that he was being held under the provisions of the Mental Health Law and that he was being monitored by doctors.
