Unimaginable images were published by the animal welfare organization PETA, which show the violent killing of animals by big fashion houses in order to make bags and wallets.

According to a report in the New York Post, PETA members sneaked into reptile slaughterhouses in Indonesia and what they saw was shocking.

A video that has been uploaded on the newspaper's website and on PETA social media shows workers stabbing reptiles until they kill them, torturing lizards by immersing them in a bathtub of water when they have their legs tied and their heads cut off by snakes.

"Because of their unique physiology, lizards and snakes do not die instantly after beheading and their brains can remain capable of feeling pain for more than 30 minutes," PETA said in a statement. The relevant videos show two cases in which the heads of reptiles continued to move after being beheaded.

"We have evidence of cruel methods of killing reptiles," Ashley Byrne told the New York Post, "but this is the first time we can reveal how they are killed. "These scenes are from a horror movie," says PETA.

The organization last Monday sent letters to the heads of the luxury group "LVMH" - to which "Louis Vuitton" belongs - and Kering, which has "Gucci".

For its part, the LVMH Group stated: "LVMH respects all views and sensitivities regarding the use of animal-based raw materials and we support and actively participate in the industry's efforts to achieve best practices. "Our intention is to provide customers with a product that has been manufactured in the most responsible and ethical way."

The Kering Group, for its part, said: "Although we have taken these allegations very seriously, there is no evidence that the Kering Group is directly or indirectly associated with this slaughterhouse or these practices. "Such practices are strictly prohibited by Kering Group animal welfare standards."
