Entitled "Ciao amore! "Italy is destroying itself and dragging Europe along," the German magazine Spiegel reported. In a multi-page tribute, he talks about the future of Italy after the formation of the government and how this development will affect the whole of Europe and especially its economy.

"And now Italy, a founding member of the EU, a pillar of NATO and the third largest economy in the Eurozone. When this country is shaken, then the whole European edifice shakes. Now comes the revenge for the fact that after the marginal stay of Greece in the euro, the European Union has never found the strength to carry out substantial reforms of the Economic and Monetary Union. "And for the fact that Chancellor Angela Merkel never gave any answer to French President Emmanuel Macron's ideas for Europe," Spiegel notes.

"There has never been much time for reform. But now, with the Italian crisis, time seems to be really running out. Even the optimists expect nothing more than an agreement on the least common denominator at the important European Union summit in late June. Fear of a possible collapse of Italy now makes it even more difficult for Angela Merkel to move towards Macron. Because which German conservative votes for a new crisis budget when the first crisis is already under way? The European Union wanted to start a period of reforms with Macron, but Italy is once again dragging it into the vortex of crisis. "This applies not only to the reform of the Eurozone, but to almost all major political plans," the German magazine concludes.
