The operation of Oslo International Airport was suspended shortly after midnight due to unmanned aircraft sighted in the area, as announced by the management company Avinor.
Monica Fasting, a spokeswoman for Oslo Airport, told Norwegian television that flights were being diverted to other airports. The specialized website FlightRadar earlier recorded planes circling above the airport, awaiting instructions from the control tower.
The closure of the Norwegian capital's international airport followed problems at Copenhagen Airport, which was earlier forced to suspend operations for almost four hours for the same reason.
