Panic erupted at noon in a mall in Manchester with customers evacuating the building, as, according to British media, many people who were there were stabbed by an unknown person.
The mall was closed to the public, strong police forces have cordoned off the area.
According to eyewitnesses, five people were attacked with a knife. "We can confirm that five people have been stabbed and taken to hospital," said police in the greater Manchester area.

According to Manchester Police Chief David Allison, the suspect arrested and is being questioned by authorities is about 40 years old.
One of the victims is said to have been stabbed in the chest, back and stomach. Two women were stabbed in the hand. Their state of health is currently unknown.
