According to information from APE-MPE, Pope Prevost and the Primate of Orthodoxy are going to continue to cultivate the close, fraternal relationship that was created between the Ecumenical Patriarch and the late Argentine pontiff, with the main points of reference being the defense of the weakest and the prevalence of peace.
As for the meeting between the pope and the Ecumenical Patriarch, for the 1.700th anniversary of the first Ecumenical Council, in Nicaea, Asia Minor, it was agreed that it will take place within the current year.
According to information, there is a possibility that it will be organized at the end of November, so that the pope can visit the Ecumenical Patriarchate during the Throne Feast of Saint Andrew.
Before departing from Rome, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew is to visit the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, where he will pray at the tomb of the late Pope Francis.
