At least 23 civilians, including XNUMX children, were killed in raids on a village controlled by the Islamic State (IS) jihadist organization in northeastern Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
The target of the raids was the village of al-Qasr in Hasaka province, the NGO said, adding that it was not in a position to say whether the raids were carried out "by the US-led international coalition or by Iraqi forces."
"Six women are among the dead as well as some elderly people," said Rami Abdel Rahman, director of the Observatory.
On April 19, the Iraqi Air Force carried out several deadly raids against IS positions in the Syrian province of Deir Ezzor, in the northeastern part of the country.
The jihadist group has lost most of its territory since 2014 in Syria and neighboring Iraq. It controls only 5% of Syrian territory, according to French geographer Fabrice Balance.
