US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made a secret trip to North Korea on the weekend of Catholic Easter, where he met with its leader North Korea's Kim Jong Un was quoted as saying by The Washington Post, which quoted two people as saying.
The trip was confirmed by senior US government officials.
Earlier, the White House confirmed that there were "top-level" contacts between Washington and Pyongyang, adding that there was no direct contact between President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un.
