a 418 MINHAUSEN SYNDROME

In 2015 Gypsy Rose Blanchard was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the murder of Dee Dee's mother. She was not present at the time of the murder, but admitted that she asked her boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, to kill her on her behalf.

She herself was disappointed with her sentence and considered that, yes, her act was criminal, but it was excessive, especially considering what happened at her mother's side.

Dee Dee was a mentally ill woman who suffered from the very dangerous Minhausen Syndrome through a dealer. Her child, little Gypsy, was a very sick creature. He suffered from cancer, muscle atrophy and a host of other diseases. Every day they took a lot of medicines in order to keep her alive, while the visits to doctors were in their daily schedule. The bond between mother and daughter was excellent, while everyone admired Dee Dee who, despite being alone, fought every day for her very sick child.

So when she was found dead in a pool of blood, everyone was worried about her helpless teenage daughter, who would not be able to survive without her mother. The girl was speechless. After hours of searching, police located her. She did not look sick, she was not in a wheelchair. She looked healthy and strong. And somehow the tangle of the case began to unfold, which was to cause a global shock.

After hours of searching, police located her. She did not look sick, she was not in a wheelchair. She looked healthy and strong. And somehow the tangle of the case began to unfold, which was to cause a global shock.

Global shock

The gruesome story began in 1991 when Dee Dee took her daughter who was just a few months old to the doctor. The child allegedly suffered from sleep apnea and was very afraid for his life. The symptoms she described were of course false, and thus began Gypsy's journey into utter paranoia.

Already by the age of 8 the girl suffered from leukemia, muscle atrophy and a host of other diseases. In fact, an innocent accident he had, hit her leg a little, led Dee Dee to confine her to a wheelchair since her injury was much more serious than it seemed.

In addition, she ate through a feeding tube without having any problems at all, while during sleep she used a special device to "help" her breathing.

At the same time, she underwent countless surgeries, while when her teeth rotted, due to the strong medication, her mother simply removed them.

Even when the girl's exams went well, Dee Dee sought the advice of other doctors, until she found someone who would believe her lies.

So when people around her began to suspect, Dee Dee and her sick daughter were moving to other neighborhoods.

When Gypsy was 14 years old, one of the neurologists examining her began to suspect that the girl was a victim of Minhausen Syndrome through a dealer, but did not turn to the authorities.

Meanwhile, the girl was growing up and increasingly suspected that her health was fine and that her mother was playing a role in all of this.

In fact, in 2011 the young woman tried to break up with someone she met online, in which she described her condition. Dee Dee however mobilized the whole neighborhood and very soon they located the girl.

Her mother blamed the man who tried to help her daughter as a pedophile, as she said she was a minor.

She herself, as she looked for ways to get rid of her mother's torture, thought that Nicholas Godejohn was her only salvation.

"This bitch died"

Gypsy asked him to kill her mother and she did. While the young man was beating Dee Dee to death, her daughter was in the bathroom with her ears covered.

The two young men then broke out, however, the police did not take long to locate them.

Immediately after the attack on her mother, Gypsy wrote on Facebook, in which they had a common account: "This bitch died", while according to her, she did this so that the police could find her body.

Gypsy was sentenced to 10 years in prison for second-degree murder while her accomplice was sentenced to life.
