A gun attack has killed at least 24 people and injured seven others at a drug addiction center in the central Mexican state of Guanajuato, according to local authorities. According to initial reports, the gunmen forced the victims to lie on the ground and killed them. Photographs from the scene of the attack show at least 11 corpses full of blood lying face down on the floor of a room. Authorities are searching for the vehicle with which the killers arrived at the scene of the attack.
The attack is one of the worst since Andreas Manuel Lopez Obrador took office 19 months ago. After a day of violence, the Mexican president said his government would not allow the country to "sink into anarchy and unrest."
