The fire started yesterday, Thursday evening, from burning crop residues in a field in Cinar province, 30 kilometers south of the city of Diyarbakir, and quickly spread, reaching, with the help of strong winds, the neighboring province of Mazidagi in Mardin province.
Trying to put out the fire, three people died in Diyarbakir and three in Mardin. Of the 44 injured, the condition of ten is considered serious.
