At least 18 people were killed and 19 injured in northern India today when a bus collided with a milk tanker in Uttar Pradesh state, police said.
"The bus hit the back of the barrel, 18 people were killed, another 19 were injured," Zulfiqar Ali, from the local police chief's office, told AFP.
The bus was heading to India's capital New Delhi from the eastern Indian state of Bihar, NDTV television reported.
Road accidents are common in India, where government estimates call for 168.000 deaths in 2022.
In May, at least 21 people were killed and more than 50 injured in Indian Kashmir when a bus skidded off a mountain road and plunged into a cliff.
