In the Valley of Aosta
Five people have been killed in a plane crash involving a helicopter and a small tourist aircraft in the Aosta Valley in northern Italy.
"The death toll has risen to five," the Alpine First Aid Service said on its Twitter account, changing its previous report to four.
"Rotor Glacier: four dead were rescued by Alpine rescue teams and two injured were airlifted to hospital," an initial statement said.
It is not clear at this time whether the fifth dead is one of the injured who was taken to hospital.
Earlier, the Alpine Rescue Service said there was "a collision between a helicopter and a tourist aircraft" over the Rutor Glacier, adding that two first aid helicopters went to the area with technicians and doctors.
