Ankara has not yet activated the S-400 missile systems it bought from Russia, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoλουlu said yesterday.
"The S-400s have not been activated yet. Our army knows how to do this. "We bought these systems out of sheer urgency," the Turkish foreign minister said in an interview with CNN Turk late yesterday.
Ankara was originally scheduled to launch the S-400 in April, but plans were revised due to the pandemic. Covid-19.
Turkey bought a number of these missile systems from Russia last year, prompting Washington to suspend Ankara's participation in the US "invisible" F-35 fighter jet program.
