New information has become known about the tragedy that occurred in Spain with the deadly floods and more specifically in Valencia.
According to the latest information from the Spanish police, more than half of the 216 victims in the area were over 70 years old.
What the data show
According to the information center set up after the severe weather, 131 of the victims were men, 85 were women and 104 of the total were aged 70 and over, of which 15 were over 90, according to the Guardian.
Nine children died in the floods, where some areas of Valencia collected water that exceeded the annual amount of rain in a few hours. In fact, 26 of the people who died were not Spanish.
The total number of people who lost their lives across Spain reached 224 people, where 216 are in Valencia, 7 in Castilla-La Mancha and one in Andalucía.
Fears of another deadly flood were raised when Spain's meteorological department, Aemet, re-issued a red alert for the region on Wednesday night.
However, the worst was avoided and the flood hit Malaga, Andalusia, leading to the evacuation of thousands of people from riverside neighborhoods.

Anger over flood management
Citizens' anger is growing more and more over the way the competent authorities managed the floods. Over 130.000 citizens have demonstrated in the streets of Valencia demanding the resignation of the local president.
Mazón, a member of the Conservative party, is under particular pressure after it was revealed that he did not arrive at the emergency center until 19pm because he was having a three-course meal with a journalist on October 30, which citizens implies a more general obstruction.
The fact that Mazón's administration waited at least 14 hours before sending warning messages to citizens' cellphones for their protection on October 29 has also played an important role in the citizens' anger. This was despite very severe severe weather warnings issued by Aemet.
