A bomb blast near a Shi'ite mosque in Afghanistan's Kunduz province has killed at least two people and injured dozens more.
According to Aamaj News Agency, citing eyewitnesses, up to 100 people have lost their lives in the blast.
The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a mosque in the northern city of Sayyid Abad, killing at least 13 people. Early indications are that a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device while inside the mosque.
According to the Afghan news agency TOLO, local authorities have confirmed the blast but are unable to provide further details on the cause or losses.
Iranian international correspondent Tajuden Soros wrote on Twitter that 100 people had been killed and more than 200 injured.
A few days ago, an explosion took place in Kabul, near the Eid Ga mosque, killing 12 people and injuring 32. Three people have been arrested for the attack.
