This is 21-year-old Maria Guadalupe Lopez Esquivel, who was a notorious leader of a hard drug cartel and had become an Instagram star as she constantly "uploaded" half-naked photos of herself with… weapons.

Katrina was killed in an exchange of fire between Mexican police and the cartel she ruled.

In the harsh images that were made public, the young woman does not seem to be fully conscious while she is full of blood… A police officer approached her and asked her to be patient because a helicopter is coming to pick her up.

"Calm down, little one. A helicopter is coming to pick you up. "Calm down, everything will be fine, try to hold on," he told her.

Maria quickly climbed the cartel hierarchy and just as quickly copied the lifestyle of its members on social media.

She had previously been charged with murder, extortion and kidnapping, and is said to have been involved in the massacre of 13 police officers last October.
