Vladimir Putin: The Russian President's select personal bodyguard

Vladimir Putin is one of the most talked about people in the world over the past month. Like any leader, he fears an assassination attempt against him. Now maybe he's a little scared.

They always stand next to the president of Russia and often discreetly in his meetings, form a human shield around him. Their eyes vigilantly investigate all movements in space and if they perceive the slightest suspect they do not hesitate to shoot.

They are members of the FPS, the Russian president's personal security, who have vowed to protect him even if they have to put their bodies between him and the bullet.

The president of Russia and the president of the United States are the two best guarded people in the world. Literally no mosquito passes if their safety does not approve.

Federal Protective Services

But who are the men of FPS? These are men who are neither police officers nor need experience on the battlefield. As one retired member had said: "He is not going to set up an ambush or have to parachute from somewhere. These are useful, but they are not applicable to what we do. You are attacking the war. Here we protect the president from someone. Invisible. "Our job is not to arrest the perpetrators, but to protect the president."

In order to join the team and follow the special training program, one must be able to study the area and anticipate the threats. He must be over 1.82, weigh 75 to 90 kg and know that when he reaches the age of 35 he will be forced to leave and someone else will take his place. The age limit is 35 years.

It does not have to be "inflatable" with huge arms. But it is necessary to be determined, smart (pass special tests), to know at least 3 languages, to have stubbornness and endurance and… not to sweat in the heat.

The briefcases

Before the Russian president visited a place, the members of the service have already arrived, have inspected the place and have made plans on how to react in case of attack or even danger of the president, even from a natural disaster.

They are all equipped with the most perfect electronic devices and communication devices and of course they all keep a briefcase. He is not a common briefcase. These are special bulletproof vests that in case of explosion or attack will become the shield of the Russian president. In fact, in these briefcases, there are special electronic countermeasures to block the remote control in case of explosion.

The weapons they have under their jacket are 9mm Gurza pistols. These pistols can fire up to 40 rounds per minute with such force that the bullet pierces armor from a great distance.

After Litvinenko was poisoned with radioactive tea in 2006, or in the case of Sergei Skripal, Putin entrusted his eating habits only to the men of his security. The Russian president's cooks are members of his personal guard.

Safety distances

Now that the war in Ukraine is under way, Putin has alerted the men of his personal security and is taking action for his life. For example, even when meeting with foreign leaders, he always has a safe distance.

It is characteristic that after the coronavirus pandemic, the Russian president himself has set a limit to those who approach him. Even his advisers and close associates have to keep a distance of 6 meters. Everyone except the men of his guard.

However, when the Russian president is about to walk out, his security is not all around him. They create 4 concentric circles (centered on the president) and overlap each other. In fact, in the two outer circles, the members of the security do not wear the classic black suit with a white shirt and tie, earphones and black glasses. Those in the 2 outer circles are dressed like everyone else just to mingle with the world and become invisible.
