Sian Sexton was stunned to hear the vet inform her that the cat she had lost 11 years ago had been found!
Daisy seemed unable to cope with the change: When her guardian moved from Dorset to Caerphilly, Great Britain in 2012, the cat disappeared at one point.
Last week, the 43-year-old received a phone call from a veterinarian informing her that a microchipped cat had been brought to his clinic whose data "pointed" to her.
"I'm still in shock," admits Sexton.
Sexton, who had since moved back to Rhidafeline, was told that Daisy had been living as a stray in Caerphilly for over a decade.
The kitten was taken to the vet by local residents who were concerned about her condition.
"She was sneezing and struggling and the people who took her to the doctor were afraid she wouldn't survive another winter outside," Sexton noted.
At 17, the same age as her sister Dorrie whom Sexton still has, Daisy has nasopharyngitis and is responding well to treatment.
"She managed to survive all this time and now, in her final days, she is finally with us. Fortunately, she can live the rest of her life with us," added the 43-year-old.
Once Daisy is fully recovered, she will return to her first home, seeing her sister again, as well as her new four-legged housemates, Tiley and Sparkle.
"It will be really interesting to reintroduce them. I wonder if they recognize each other yet," admits Sexton.
He said Daisy is still "very tender" and wants attention, despite living on the streets for so many years.
