The presence and action of the Police was intense last night, throughout Cyprus, with organized patrols being carried out in key points of urban areas, with the aim of preventing serious criminal acts, ensuring public order and increasing the public's sense of security.

The result of the preventive policing operations was the arrest of one person for the offense of illegal possession of property.

As part of these operations, during the night, 379 drivers and passengers were stopped and checked.

20 inspections of premises were carried out in parallel, with the aim of addressing delinquency phenomena.

During the traffic inspections that were carried out, 117 complaints were made, concerning various traffic violations, while 5 cases of traffic violations that were under investigation also emerged.

Of the complaints made, twelve (12) drivers were reported for driving under the influence of alcohol and three (3) for driving under the influence of drugs. As part of the police examinations, 2 vehicles were seized.

Coordinated policing operations, to prevent and suppress crime, continue daily, with increased/enhanced police presence, targeted checks and direct operational action, with the aim of increasing citizens' sense of security/protecting citizens and ensuring public order.
