Receipts from the execution of fine warrants exceeded 1,5 million euros in two months, after the Auditor General prepared a relevant report highlighting the problem and following instructions from the Minister of Justice to intensify efforts.

It seems that the appointment of a coordinator who monitors the process of locating and executing the warrants pays off, since from October 25, when a meeting was held at the Ministry of Justice until December 23, 10.125 warrants were executed and 1.629.079 euros were collected, an amount that is considered quite significant compared to what was collected in the previous period. This was achieved after the change of the procedures for locating a person, but also the intensification of the efforts so that a debtor who has money but avoided paying his fines or his social insurance, is now convinced and does it. A typical case is that of a company that is currently performing, among other things, a rapid test, which paid the amount of 100 thousand euros in one installment, for overdue social insurance related to its staff.

According to data from the Police Statistics Department, most of the warrants were executed by the Enforcement Officer in Limassol, while most of the money was collected in Nicosia. Specifically, in Limassol, 3.644 warrants were executed in the last two months after the procedures were changed and 429.038 euros were collected, in Nicosia 2.548 warrants were executed and € 523.861 were collected, in Larnaca 1.689 warrants were executed for € 104.522, in Paphos 1.599 and in the province of Morphou 269.691 warrants were executed for the amount of € 117. All warrants relate to either convictions for traffic offenses or Social Security contributions.

It is expected that now during the holidays the actions of the local Ulams will fade for obvious reasons and then will resume vigorously, in order to locate persons who for years managed to avoid being located and consequently the payment of their debts. According to information from "F", emphasis will be given to companies that owe significant amounts and have started to reactivate, however they avoid the payment of social security of their employees or any fines. At the same time, there are people known in the society who until now, for various reasons, were not even approached by the police to be asked to pay the fines to which they were sentenced by the courts, which is why efforts will be made to do so now.
